Wholecut shoes are the very best of all the shoes. Why? Because you cannot hide any mistakes - you have to do everything to a level of perfection that is not required in other shoes.
On a wholecut, every part of the upper, a large single piece of leather, has to be perfect. Similarly one small mistake on the lasting machine or the welt-trimming and the whole shoe is ruined. That is pressure! Only the best shoemakers, in the best factories, can make this style.
