This weekend saw the X Factor finalists and Xtra Factor presenter Olly Murs wearing Herring Shoes. Both runners up, Jahmene Douglas and Christopher Maloney have been fans of the brand from the very beginning of the live shows, wearing Herring in almost every performance. Olly Murs wore the Attlee and Chaucer II on both Saturday and Sunday evening’s shows.
The Herring Attlee is a stylish double monk-strap shoe on the elongated 11028 last for a bespoke feel. Handmade in Northampton, England, they embody all the artistry of English shoemaking. Few shoes are as on trend at the moment as double monks. Versatile enough to be worn with both suits and jeans, few shoes have quite the same sense of presence and playfulness as double monks. The Herring Chaucer II is a genuine wholecut shoe. The pinnacle of shoe making, this whole cut features fine calf leather, full leather lining and a Goodyear Welted sole. Perhaps the most difficult shoe to make as each one needs to be made from one perfect piece of unblemished leather. A scratch or miss cut during the making and the shoe and it has to be discarded.

For every man, the Penny Loafer is the quintessential wardrobe staple. Easily wearable it is one of the few shoes that are versatile enough to be worn with a 3-piece suit or casually with a pair of chinos. Thus, the Herring Russell does not disappoint. It is available in brown, black and a contemporary Navy Suede and leather version. It is also unlined for ease of comfort, whilst not losing any of the longevity through being Goodyear welted constructed.

British brand Herring Shoes has excelled in producing premium handcrafted footwear once again with a collaboration with the Fox Bros Mill to create a tweed truly unique to Herring Shoes.
The latest style to be introduced to the collection is the Herring Balmoral, which is a house shoe. The Herring Balmoral carries the Herring crest, which is hand embroidered using a gold bullion wire. The lining is Burgundy quilted with a full leather sole and heel.
The Herring Balmoral joins the existing Herring Monarch in creating a slipper collection that is of exceptional quality, matching the premium standards that Herring Shoes are renowned for.
The Herring Monarch is a classic velvet slipper hand made in England. Featuring a luxurious quilted lining and hand embroidered ‘Herring Crest,’ this style of slipper is often referred to as the Albert after being favoured by Queen Victoria’s consort. These slippers became acceptable footwear for wearing with dinner jackets at home or at ones club, and remain so today. They are also credited with being a forebear of the loafer, or at least helping towards its social acceptance. Fit for a King or the man with an appreciation for the finer things in life.
