The Herring Aston Walks The Red Carpet at The Pride Of Britain Awards on X Factor’s Jahmene Douglas
31 October 2012Now becoming one of Herring Shoes’ biggest fans, Jahmene Douglas graced the red carpet Monday 29th October, at the Daily Mirror’s renowned Pride Of Britain Awards. The awards ceremony celebrates and honours Britons who have acted courageously or extraordinarily in challenging situations, a star studded bash in which money is raised for a variety of worthy causes. The awards are televised by ITV, and hosted by Carol Vorderman. Jahmene look sartorially styled at the awards, with the Herring Aston adding the true red carpet touch.

Saturday night’s X Factor show reached an 8.6 million figure audience on average, with Jahmene being an audience favourite and his style being at the forefront of many a gentleman’s conversation. The Herring Monarch is a classic velvet slipper hand made in England. This month, the Best Scottish Weddings magazine featured our very own Herring Carnaby. The article is based on looking sharp in Scottish tones, so the purple suede Carnaby was the obvious choice. The Carnaby is a classic full brogue on the elegant 368 last created with the finest calf leathers and a full leather sole. This week Live magazine had socks as the focus point of their ‘Live the look’ and we are very excited to blog that our Herring Plug was featured. The Herring Plug is a great sock with stripe detailing and is available in a wide variety of colours. Herring’s socks are produced by Corgi, a company that has been producing high quality socks without compromise since 1893. Corgi have also been awarded the Royal Warrant by His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales.

In Thursdays London Evening Standard, Gareth Malone was featured with the Military Wives as they filmed their music video for the new album being released in November. However this was no ordinary music video, Gareth Malone was with 650 Military Wives that made up the choir making this the biggest video shoot in history. What better way to break this world record than to be wearing the Herring Jekyll whilst doing so! The Herring Jekyll is a beautiful black and white spectator made in the Cheaney factory, Northampton. It is on the 2003 sleek last and is made using the finest black calf and white caviar grain leather.
In the latest Beige magazine the Herring Burgh and the Wilson are featured in the lifestyle shoot. Both are handmade in Northampton using the finest leathers with the Goodyear welted construction. The Burgh is a rugged country boot and the Wilson is a sleek Chelsea boot. Whilst they are quite different both offer a world of possibility, versatile enough to be worn with a suit to jeans these are wardrobe must haves!
