Dare we suggest that Christmas is closing in on us? Aside from the rush to buy gifts and food we don’t eat during the rest of the year, the festive season also means parties and more intimate social gatherings. With this in mind, what are your go-to party shoes?

In our autumn/winter photo shoot at Lympstone Manor, we were surrounded by decadent surroundings that made you want to get your glad rags on. For the more relaxed party look, we styled our model wearing our pebble-grey Guildford tasselled loafer or in our rosewood Dunkeld slip-on semi-brogues.

Both are super-smart shoes that work well for a smart-casual event. They are standout styles that ooze class. They are ideal for a work Christmas party or even the big day itself, if you like to dress up for your turkey lunch.

We also considered shoes for black tie events. We think our black semi-brogue Sloane shoes with their gorgeous blue soles are an ideal accompaniment.

If you like something a little different, why not consider the Dillon horsebit loafers? Easy to slip on and off…although it is the usually the ladies who discard their shoes halfway through the evening! You won’t need to discard these as they will mould to your feet as you wear them and will end up feeling like slippers. If you are a woman that prefers a bit of comfort or want a pair of shoes to slip on when your heels are starting to hurt, then the Scarlette loafer would be a lovely option. This style comes is a classic black calf or a festive gold.

If you really want to get your party vibe on, then you need to go for patent formal shoes. The Aston black Oxfords are the perfect dancing shoes. Meanwhile, the Martin blends suede with patent calf for a slightly different but equally elegant look.

If you prefer a boot, a handmade, quality lace-up or Chelsea style will serve you well. The Milton certainly looked the part in the bar at Lympstone Manor but we have plenty of other styles to make you feel a little more dressed up.

The Thatcher’s burgundy calf with brogue detailing on a narrow toe is a simply gorgeous Chelsea boot while the black Oxford-style Flynn is an elegant, laced classic. If you like a monk shoe, then a double-strap boot may suit your style. The Orwell comes in brown and black calk…and is stunning.

For women, we have some stunning knee-high boots to style with your little black dress or party frock. The Varese comes is black or green suede and are a beautifully elegant over-the-knee style, or try the brown and black suede Bracciano knee-high style.
