The Dartington Oak Bark Belt is made from heavy hide that is 4-5mm thick, the type used by harness and bridle makers, with a solid brass buckle. It is hammer riveted with one fixed and one loose keeper. The belt is 38mm wide and has a strong odour from the tanning process which will dissipate over time. Please note the Dartington belt actually has 7 holes not the 5 shown in the photo. Our belt is tanned with oak bark from the Lake District. It has a full grain finish which means that every blemish or scar on the cows skin will be present on the finished hide. These belts are masterpieces of traditional hand craftsmanship and we are proud to be supporting british skills in the South West of England. The difference to our traditional Oak Bark belt is that this belt does not have the hand stitching that takes a lot of skilled time and therefore adds to the cost.
IMPORTANT - We recommend that you measure the distance from the tip of the buckle to the hole you currently use on a well fitting belt and order that size. |
