About Stemar shoes

Stemar shoes are designed to be works of art as well as practical, comfortable footwear. Every single pair of shoes is handmade with passion and precision. Stemar’s brand ethos is to focus on the man who understands what he wants from his shoes, and every pair of shoes aims to be a high quality, long lasting purchase to be treasured.

The history of Stemar

The brand began in 1969 when the Moreschi family decided to launch an exclusive collection of footwear for men. A third-generation family run and owned business, Moreschi was founded in Vigevano, Italy, in 1946. Two of the Moreschi sons were named Stefano and Mario, and the first few letters of each name gave the shoe collection its new name: Stemar.

The factory is still in Vigevano to this day and still employs many of the traditions and skills of the old Italian master shoemakers. These expert skills are now combined with state of the art technology to create a completely modern shoe brand that’s filled with Italian heritage. In 1990, the collection expanded to include clothes and accessories, but Stemar shoes remain the heart of the collection. They have a timeless look that exudes class and style and are aimed at the discerning gentleman with an eye for fashion.

The Stemar process

Their expert shoemakers follow hundreds of meticulous steps to ensure each pair of Stemar shoes is unique and beautiful. The attention to detail in every pair is one of the main selling points and keeps customers coming back again and again. Stemar takes pride in following a precise process for every shoe they create.

This process starts with the designer. An idea is given shape and form, through the medium of sketches based on current trends and the designer’s own flair. Once the design is fully formed, a shoe last is created. This is the mould that the shoe will be built around. A different mould has to be created for each size foot, so every pair crafted is truly unique. The finest leather is selected, then modern technology gets involved during the machine cutting process.

Sewing the supple pieces of leather together takes a good eye, so while sewing machines are used, they are led by a human hand. All the final stitching is finished up by hand, and only by master shoemakers. Sturdy soles are added, then the shoes are finished in a variety of eye-catching colours. Once the shoes are polished, they are ready to be boxed up and sold to a new proud owner of a pair of Stemar shoes.

Stemar shoes are famous for their range of colours and styles that can’t be found anywhere else. These unique, hand painted, hand crafted shoes are much in demand from those that insist on standing out from the crowd whether that’s during a business meeting, out for a casual brunch or at a formal occasion like a wedding.

Loafers

Stemar loafers combine the style of the dapper gentleman with simple formality. These loafers are perfect for pairing with suits and are crafted in a range of premium leather and suede. Slip-on loafers are ideal for when wearers need something smart to change into quickly after a long drive. Lace-up loafers give a more retro look and are available in a variety of colours, to match with any outfit. Blue suede loafers make sure wearers stand out in the crowd, whilst tans and blacks retain that air of elegance. Touches like hand painted sole lines and hand stitched edging make Stemar loafers the discerning choice when looking for a classic style with a touch of something unique.

Boots

Stemar boots are inspired by a fusion of “spirit of adventure and the art of the handmade.” Their collection carries a range of ankle boots, ranging from lace up to slip on, and all with a carefully crafted heel for extra support. Finishes come in shiny leather or brushed suede, and even more extravagant touches like faux-crocodile skin. Many of the boots are custom made to order, so buyers must take this into account when ordering as these bespoke boots can take a little extra time to arrive.

Slippers

Stemar slippers, a relatively new addition to the Stemar collection, are just one item in a range of accessories offered by this exclusive brand. Stemar Heathrow Slippers are easy to fold away and come with a soft leather carry case to make them perfect for travel. This kind of slipper is ideal for long journeys and flights as they relieve pressure on the feet and ankles which is good for the circulation.

New Styles

The latest styles to come from Stemar include a range of quality brogues and striking loafers. The two-tone brogues are particularly striking style, in either blue and black or, for a richer tone, burgundy and black. The brogues are made of soft deerskin and calf’s leather, for ultimate flexibility and comfort.

Another eye-catching new style is the Genova range. These double buckle “monk shoes” come in either leather or suede. The two buckles sweep across the shoe and fasten at the side for an unusual yet easy to wear style. Hand-painted and hand finished, the most flamboyant of the Genova shoes is the Tan Calf pair, which fade to a darker tan around the sole line.

For those who want to keep it classic, Stemar are always adding plenty of traditional shoes to their range- all with the Stemar attention to detail. New styles include their Ferrara rubber-soled Oxfords . The Oxford has long been one of the most popular choices for formal footwear. The lace up style makes it a timeless classic, and versatile enough to go with most outfits. The Stemar Oxfords are crafted from supple deerskin for additional comfort, with rubber heels and soles for added shock absorption, making walking a little easier.
